Content Moderation at Mercabl
We recognize the importance of maintaining a secure environment. To this end, we utilize a blend of human oversight, technology, and strict guidelines to monitor and enforce our content standards.
Policies Relevant to Your Content
Mercabl reserves the right to moderate all content posted using our platform's services, including listings, images, reviews, messages, and videos. These actions are taken to ensure compliance with our content policies.
The following guidelines govern the content posted on Mercabl:
- Seller Policy
- Buyer Policy
- Prohibited Items Policy
- Creativity Standards
- Discrimination and Hateful Content Policy
- Community Policy
- Intellectual Property Policy
If we determine that your content, your account, or your use of Mercabl violates any of our Terms and Conditions, we may take actions such as restricting or removing content, suspending your account, or even terminating access to our platform. Typically, we will notify you when such actions are taken unless the violation is severe or recurring, or if there are legal or regulatory reasons preventing us from doing so.
Detecting Violating Content
Our team uses a combination of advanced automated systems and human oversight to detect content that violates our policies. Violations can be reported in a number of ways:
- Reports from Users: Content can be flagged directly by users, such as through a "Report This Content" button available on each listing.
- Regulatory Reports: Government bodies and agencies may report violations, helping us identify non-compliant content.
- Automated Tools: Our technology scans for potential policy violations, which are then reviewed and acted upon by our team.
- Internal Monitoring: Our internal team also monitors the platform to identify and address policy violations proactively.
Enforcement of Violating Content
To maintain the safety of Mercabl, we may take a variety of actions to address policy violations. These can range from restricting or removing a specific listing, suspending an account, or placing holds on a seller's payment account.
The type of enforcement action taken depends on the nature and severity of the violation. For instance:
- A listing may be deactivated or restricted from being shown to all users.
- A seller's account may be suspended temporarily or permanently.
- Payment accounts may be suspended, and funds held for further review.
We utilize both manual processes and automated systems to enforce our policies, including sending warnings or, in repeated violations, suspending accounts.
Appealing Content Moderation Decisions
We acknowledge that content moderation can be challenging, especially considering the wide variety of products offered on Mercabl and the individual nature of listings. While we continuously refine our tools to improve accuracy, we understand that mistakes can happen.
If you believe that your account or content was unjustly affected by a policy enforcement action, we provide clear avenues to appeal the decision.
- Appeals for Listings: In some cases, you may be able to appeal the removal of a listing.
- Appeals for Accounts: Accounts can be temporarily or permanently suspended, and in cases of temporary suspension, we typically provide information on how to resolve the issue. Once resolved, your account may be reinstated. For permanent suspensions, an appeal can be submitted after addressing the issues that led to the suspension. Please note that you must file an appeal within six months of your account suspension, after which the decision is final.
By fostering an transparent appeal process, we aim to ensure fairness for all users and uphold the principles of our marketplace.
This content moderation approach helps Mercabl provide a safe environment for both buyers and sellers.
